Make 2012 a 'runbristol' year
Make 2012 a 'runbristol' year
- that’s the message from runbristol as entries for the 2012 Bristol half marathon open on-line.
With the 2012 sporting focus of the London Olympics and the world’s best of the best competing for a coveted gold medal, people can set their own personal New Year health and fitness challenge by taking part in a runbristol event.
Bristol boasts two great road races - the Bristol 10k in May and the Bristol half marathon in September, both races offer would-be runners and seasoned athletes alike, the chance to set a personal training and running goals. The runbristol training session dates will be announced shortly and offer to support pre-race preparations, access to expert advice and guidance from runbristol coaches and sports injury partners.
The message from the runbristol team is to sign up now and commit to running these two great events in 2012: "We all know regular running is a great way to exercise, especially if you by start off slowly with walking and jogging. It’s then easier to build up speed and stamina. And there’s plenty of evidence to show that regular exercise, can help to achieve weight loss, raise self-esteem, improve sleep and relieve stress, as well as reduce health risks associated with heart disease and strokes.
“So, what better way to start 2012? Make that New Year’s resolution and make 2012 a runbristol year.”
Each year thousands of runners take part in runbristol events, from first-time runners to national and international elites. The Bristol 10k and Bristol half marathon also attract thousands of spectators and raise tens of thousands of pounds for charities and good causes.
