Welcome to the Junior runbristol programme

EVENTS & ACTIVITIES

This page is updated with sports events and activites for young people to take part in.

2010 saw the opening of a new floodlit training track at Packers Field at Whitehall (City Academy) with another competition track opened later in the year at Filton College WISE campus.

Young people who are 15 years of age (on race day) can also enter the Bristol 10k, or those who are 17 years of age (on race day) can take part in the Bristol half marathon – but please only consider entering these two events if the necessary training has been carried out!

Bristol Road Mile Races – College Green Saturday 10 September 2011

2010 Bristol Road Mile and Street Sprints Results

Bristol City Council are planning to work in partnership with Bristol & West Athletic Club to organise a series of one mile races for age groups ranging from under 11s to seniors. 2011 will be the eighth year in which the Mile races will take place on the paved walkways around College Green and form part of activities staged during the Bristol half marathon weekend.

The event attracts some of the region’s top runners and past winners include international athletes: Kate Reed, Chris Moss and James Thie.

Entry to the mile races is by invitation. Applications for an invitation will be primarily extended to athletics clubs but applications from schools will also be considered.

Spectators are welcome to come along and cheer the athletes on and it may be your chance to see the Paula Radcliffe’s and Steve Cram’s of the future.
